¡Ü Introduction to Toegye Munseon

Toegye Munseon was a Confucian scholar and scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, and is famous as a Daejanggyeongjipjeo. His real name is Moon Hee, his first name is Chungye, and his pen name is Toegye. He was born in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do in 1575, and died in Seosan in 1644.

Toegye Munseon argued for a new idea with an epistemological objectivism character, away from ritual systems and customary perceptions. In Eastern philosophy, he did not distinguish between philosophical subjects and objects, but viewed them as a unified body. In addition, he tried to treat philosophical objects in a conscious aspect, not in a sensuous aspect such as body, shape, composition, etc.

He also argued that "rationality" was important and that the ultimate purpose of human life was to practice morality derived from intellectual perception controlled by reason. This is in line with the fact that in order to achieve the state of Zen, which Toegye Munseon regarded as the most important element in Confucian thought, it is necessary to cultivate intelligence and maximize reason to achieve enlightenment.

Toegye Munseon's academic achievements are Daejanggyeongjipju (자학Ìè) and Bokjajak (í®ùÊ)). He has made many achievements in the fields of law and compound magnetism, and his work is highly authentic and is still cited by many researchers. Toegye Munseon is recognized as one of the representative figures of Seonjong during the Joseon Dynasty.
